According to UNESCO (2005) the use of mother tongue as a medium of instruction boosts children's confidence and academic performance. This means that children who start their education in their mother tongue have a good start, and perform better, than those who start school in a foreign language. And I too totally agree that learning through mother language is pretty easy for any student.

I am Ashutosh Nayak currently a Primary Teacher. We know our country is diverse with language as it differs from state to state. There also same here in Odisha, all districts have there own way of speaking except some pockets. Text book language is difficult for those small children as it different from there home language or Mother tongue whatever you say. Language can be the entry to learning. Earlier childhood period i.e. 3 years to 7 years is a crucial stage for every child as it is responsible for language acquisition and Language Learning with some extent. So teacher should communicate with there students with there home language. Thank You.
The child is not blank headed. He/she came to the school with vast experience in mother tongue.so as a teacher we should help them to know other languages
Yes,children are highly inclined to learn new things. They have the potential to become skilled in any area. We've to ensure And reinforce them on their every attempts by which they are motivated to do.
Language is a medium to communicate, to express and to share view point .And yes ofcourse children have a natural inclination for learning language and learning through the medium of language and that inclination for learning language make a easy way for children to understand the language comfortably. Children at this age have that willingness to learn more new things so in this period of time we should motivat them to learn new language along with their own language . We should also focus on new things that they could learn easily in easy way. Thank you
